On Our Way
We are travelling to visit NZ family members just now but leave for Pitcairn on 30th Jan. We fly to Tahiti, then Easter Island where we stay for 3 days waiting for a ship that will transport us to Pitcairn Island. The journey on the cruise ship will take 3 days to get to the island where we will be transferred to shore via longboat.
Paul, so hard to get there and yet so many want to visit. A doctor wrote a blog about his time on Pitcairn. Sure hope you'll write frequently. Found this blog from a post on groups.yahoo.com/group/FRIENDSofPITCAIRN/
ReplyDeletePlease tell us you're taking a video camera. I'd like to discuss that with you.

Sorry no video camera. Maybe we'll save up for one.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the video camera, our goal is to obtain as much video of the Pitcairn people and their activities as we can get. Since you are now on your way it is too late for me to send funds for a camera purchase to take with you. Perhaps we can arrange something after you are settled in on Pitcairn.
DeleteOur Pitcairn interest group, Friends of Pitcairn, is having an international get-together in California in August, and two persons from Pitcairn are scheduled to attend and present. We very much would like to have additional videos, not only to view but also to duplicate and perhaps sell, with all profits returning to Pitcairn.
Please e-mail me when you have a chance.

We would be interested to read a doctor's blog about life on Pitcairn. Does the blog still exist? Can you give us any further details?
ReplyDeletefrom Paul and Ruth
Dr. Bruce Dixon wrote about his year on Pitcairn.

Please write and post photos whenever you have time. More people than you can guess will be reading.
